THE PLOT:
Scooby and the Gang reunite to help Daphne's new TV show and get proof that ghost do exist. For once she wants to see the
real thing. But as they travel across the country they find fake after fake after fake monsters and ghosts. Until they reach
New Orleans, where she is approached about a small island in the swamp, a haunted island. The owner of the house dislikes
Dogs and zombies walk the night warning to leave the place.
Fred is convinced that this is just another fake haunting like they ran into so many times, but as the clues and evidence
mount is seems less likely that this is fake and more likely they may not live to file the report.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Now being the Scooby fan I am I can't help but like this movie. But the absence of Don Messick as Scooby and Casey Kasem
hurt for me. Don Messick died in 1997 which could be the reason why Casey Kasem didn't want to be in it. I don't know. Don't
get me wrong Scott Innes and Billy West (Futurama) do a great job, but no one can really replace those two. The story works
and the monsters are cool, so all and all it earns a solid 9 STARS.
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd about everything, there really isn't much that I can add except that to say that I love the soundtrack of
the movie, I am going to buy it if given the change. 9 STARS as well.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURES (Various monsters, real and fake alike.)
+ STORY (The story works.)
+ CHARACTERS (The characters you grew up with.)
+ ACTING (The acting was great.)
+ HUMOR (It was very funny.)
+ MYSTERY (Very interesting mystery.)
+ DIDN'T PULL PUNCHES (Real zombies means real death.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- MISSING ACTORS (I missed Don Messick as Scooby and Casey Kasem as Shaggy.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you aren't a Scooby-Fan, then this isn't the movie for you.)
